Knightdale Digital uses the contact information you submit only to respond to you and to work with you if you decide to hire us. We never sell, rent, or trade it, and we never share it with advertisers or data brokers.
Who we are
Knightdale Digital is a small web design and local marketing studio based in Knightdale, North Carolina. This policy covers knightdaledigital.com and the forms on it.
What we collect
Only what you type into a form and send us. Depending on the form, that can include:
- Your name
- Your business name
- Your email address
- Your phone number, if you choose to give it
- Details about your business or project, such as your industry or what you're trying to fix
Everything beyond your name, business name, and email is optional. If you'd rather not put something in a form, just email us instead.
We also see basic, anonymous traffic information: which pages get visited, roughly where visitors come from, and what kind of device they use. That data is aggregated and is not tied to your name or contact details.
How we use it
We use what you send for exactly one purpose: to get in touch with you and talk about the work you asked about. In practice that means:
- Replying to your message by email or phone
- Building the free demo or quote you requested
- Following up if we don't hear back, and keeping the conversation going if we do
- Communicating with you about the project if you become a client
If you ever want us to stop contacting you, say so in a reply or email hello@knightdaledigital.com and we'll stop.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your information.
- We don't rent, trade, or share it with other businesses, advertisers, or data brokers.
- We don't add you to a marketing list or newsletter you didn't ask to join.
- We don't use your contact details for anything unrelated to the reason you contacted us.
The only exceptions are the ordinary ones: the service providers listed below that we use to actually run the site and receive your message, and any case where we're legally required to disclose information, such as a valid court order.
Service providers we use
We use a few standard tools to run this site. They handle data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own marketing:
- Formspree processes form submissions and delivers them to our inbox.
- Netlify hosts the website and keeps standard server logs.
- Google Analytics gives us anonymous, aggregate traffic numbers so we know which pages are useful.
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces the site uses.
- Email is where your message ends up, so we can read and reply to it.
Cookies and tracking
This site doesn't run advertising, retargeting pixels, or third-party ad trackers. The only tracking is Google Analytics, which uses cookies to count visits and page views in aggregate. If you'd rather not be counted, browser privacy settings, an ad blocker, or Google's opt-out add-on will all block it, and the site works exactly the same either way.
How long we keep it
We keep form submissions and email threads as long as we may reasonably need them: while we're talking with you, for the life of a project, and afterward for our own business records. If you'd like your information deleted, email hello@knightdaledigital.com and we'll delete what we have, except anything we're required to keep for tax or legal reasons.
You can also ask us at any time what information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it.
Keeping it secure
The site is served over HTTPS, and form submissions are encrypted in transit. Access to submissions is limited to us. No system is perfectly secure, so please don't send passwords, payment card numbers, or other sensitive information through a website form.
Links to other sites
Our local guides link out to town and county sources, client sites, and other third parties. Once you follow one of those links you're on someone else's site, under their privacy policy, not ours.
Children's privacy
This site is meant for businesses and adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and change the date at the top. The core promise, that your contact information is used to contact you and nothing else, isn't going to change.
